Do you repair all boiler makes and models?
The make of your boiler matters, but it is only one part of the diagnosis. A boiler repair depends on the exact model, its age, the fault that has developed, the availability of suitable parts and how the appliance connects to the rest of your heating system.
That is why a responsible answer cannot be based on the manufacturer name alone. Two boilers from the same brand can use different components, controls and fault-finding procedures. A fault that is straightforward on one model may need a different approach on another.

The model number is more useful than the badge
When you contact us, the boiler make is a useful starting point. The exact model number is more important. It helps identify the appliance’s internal layout, compatible components, expected operating pressures and the correct diagnostic information.
You can usually find the model information on the front, underneath or inside the boiler’s documentation. Do not remove the boiler casing to look for it. The sealed casing should only be opened by a suitably qualified engineer.
If you can safely read the display, make a note of any fault code and describe what happened immediately beforehand. For example, tell us whether the heating stopped while hot water continued to work, whether the boiler repeatedly tried to start, or whether the pressure changed after the fault appeared. These details can narrow the likely fault, but they do not replace a proper diagnosis.
Why the same symptom can have several causes
A boiler that will not fire is not necessarily suffering from a failed boiler component. The cause could involve the appliance, the controls, the electrical supply, the pipe that carries away condensation, system pressure or another part of the heating circuit.
Similarly, cold radiators do not automatically mean the boiler itself has failed. A stuck valve, circulation issue, air in the system or a control problem can produce a similar result. Replacing the first component associated with a symptom can leave the real fault untouched.
We therefore look at the boiler in the context of the whole system. That includes the controls, radiators, pipework and hot water arrangements where they are connected to the reported problem. The aim is to identify the cause rather than simply clear the visible symptom.
What can limit a repair on an older model
Older boilers can often develop faults that are technically diagnosable but more difficult to resolve. Original parts may no longer be readily available, a component may have been replaced by a newer version, or an alternative part may not be suitable for that particular appliance.
Parts availability is not just a question of whether something looks similar. The component must be compatible with the boiler and appropriate for safe operation. Improvising with an unsuitable part can create further faults and may compromise the appliance.
The condition of the surrounding system also matters. A replacement component may not solve the problem if poor circulation, contaminated system water, failing controls or another underlying issue has contributed to the failure. This is where a proper repair assessment is more valuable than guessing from the fault code alone.
What happens when the exact part is not immediately available
A diagnosis should still establish what has failed and what the realistic options are. Depending on the appliance and fault, the next step may involve sourcing a correct component, checking manufacturer information or explaining that a specialist part is needed.

You should also expect safety checks before an appliance is returned to normal use. Gas-related work should be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. A boiler that starts again is not necessarily a boiler that has been safely repaired, particularly if the original cause has not been established.
Information to have ready before you call
A few details can make the first conversation more useful:
- The boiler manufacturer and exact model, if visible without removing any casing
- Any fault code shown on the display
- Whether the fault affects heating, hot water or both
- Whether radiators, thermostats or controls are also behaving differently
- Any recent pressure changes, leaks or unusual noises
- Whether the boiler has stopped completely or is repeatedly attempting to start
Do not attempt to dismantle the appliance, bypass a safety control or interfere with gas components. A reset may be appropriate where the manufacturer’s instructions clearly permit it, but repeated resets can conceal an underlying fault rather than resolve it.
The right question is not simply whether a boiler carries a particular brand name. It is whether the exact appliance can be diagnosed accurately, repaired with suitable parts and returned to safe operation.
